A Whole Lotta ElvisĀ® Goin' On
I have a friend who is crazy about The King of Rock & Roll. Since her birthday is coming up, I started looking through our Elvis items to find the perfect gift for her. With all the memorabilia to choose from, it's tough to decide, but I came up with a few themes to work with.
Elvis in Your Kitchen: First, this Elvis Coffee Set is a great way to wake up with The King. No brewing necessary -- just add hot water to Viva Vanilla, Hound Dog Hazelnut, or Rock-n-roll Raspberry coffee. Plus, the set of three tins feature classic images of the superstar and they have hooks on the lids so you can use them as holiday ornaments when they're empty. These Elvis pub glasses celebrate the famous 1972 Madison Square Garden concert and are great for any beverage, from Elvis's beloved Pepsi Cola to Southern sweet tea to a cold, frothy ale. Finally, both decorative and useful, our hand painted ceramic cookie jar is decorated with goldtone accents and faux gemstones and reminds us of The King's legendary jumpsuits. Elvis On Your Shelf: Though it changed over the decades, there's no denying that Elvis had a style all his own. from the 50s to the 70s, his super suave brand of cool is recognizable as uniquely The King's. I remember going nuts for him, along with all my friends, when he made his 1957 silver screen debut in Jailhouse Rock. The magic of his first movie is captured forever in this hand painted resin figure that plays the title track. Just wind it up and get ready to swoon! For something a little more sparkly, our porcelain figurine commemorating his late 60s Comeback Concert is highly glazed to re-create the shine on Elvis' leather outfit. Plus, it features a genuine diamond set into his ring! During the 70s, The King of Rock & Roll was also the ruling celebrity monarch of Vegas. Our limited edition Elvis Las Vegas figurine is crafted of resin, hand painted in incredible detail and hand numbered from a collection of only 2,400 pieces. (Special gift guru hint: this one is over 50% off right now!)
Elvis On Your Arm: This is where I finally narrowed it down to a choice of three items for my friend's birthday. Not only is she into Elvis, she collects both purses and watches. In fact, I've known her to wear watches that don't even work anymore just because she likes them so much. I've seen people ask her what time it is, then glance at her wrist curiously when she says, "I don't know." It's funny to witness and it's part of what makes my dear friend as unique as her collectibles. So, what could be more perfect for her than an Elvis purse or watch? These stiletto purses both feature a faux signature, lace-up accents, double handles and optional shoulder straps. The first is imprinted with classic Wertheimer photographs of a young Elvis and the second has faux crystals on the front to add sparkle and glamour. I thought I had my mind made up to get both purses for her, but then I found this Elvis heart-shaped watch. Faux rubies are embedded in the bezel and it has a super handsome picture of The King on the face.
So what did I finally decide? A purse and watch combo is the perfect gift for the Elvis nut and the collector in her! Now, I just have to decide which purse...
